Windows Azure team has now came up with Windows Azure CDN(Content Delivery Network),in which customers levering the offering will be able to continue doing it for free of charge. Enormous amount of copies are stored on Windows azure network making them easily accessible in online distribution scenarios.
Windows Azure CDN billing period will start from next month that’s after 30th June 2010. The charges for CDN will be depending upon the usage. CDN will charge $0.15 for North America and Europeans and $0.20 for other locations.
Microsoft announced that there are approximately 19 locations add up including United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. This software offers their customers with global solution and delivering high speed bandwidth content. Apart from that Redmond company revealed that it tested the offering extensively and they were using it for the distribution of its own content including various updates for Windows, Zune and Bing Maps.
Some of the content types supported by Windows Azure CDN include web objects like JPG, CSS and Java Script, apart from that downloadable object like media files, software’s, documents and some other components for internet Delivery. Windows Azure CDN also supports HTTP Delivery of public content stored in Windows Azure Storage.
Windows Azure team also added that all the usage prior to July 1, 2010 will not be charged. For pricing plan please review the comparison table here.
